Birth, Marriage and Death certificates are available from 1837 onwards, and Census returns for the years 1841,1851,1861,1871,1881,1891 and 1901. Many censuses are not indexed by name and so it helps if you have the exact address, or at least the street where your family may have lived. Regimental Indexes of BMDs If your ancestor was in the Army, it may be worth looking for events in the Regimental Indexes. Click here for more information Births, Marriages and Deaths of UK citizens overseas There are also Consular Registers of all Births, Marriages and Deaths registered at the various British Consuls, from 1849 onwards. These indexes are held at the FRC, and are not indexed on any electronic media. We are happy to manually search these for you on your behalf. Our initial search costs GBP5, and we would report back with findings. Any certificate you may wish to order costs GBP11.50 Scottish Records Scottish Birth, Marriage and Death records are held separately from those for England and Wales, as are Parish Registers. Kew holds a vast amount of information, and we are very regular visitors there.
